Why should I join a Refuel Growth Group?
At New Life, we believe that God has created us to be a
close-knit family. Yet as our church has grown we have
discovered that it’s almost impossible to develop deep and
lasting relationships in a large church service. Therefore we
have established Growth Groups where everyone can experience
the joy of Christ-centered community.
What can I expect from my
Refuel Growth Group?
All of our growth groups focus on three primary areas:
Bible Study
Our Heavenly Father longs to speak to his children. As we
open up God’s Word together we gain wisdom and direction from
the one who truly knows what’s best for our lives. During
group discussions, each member has the opportunity to learn
from the insights and experiences of others and is challenged
to apply these truths to everyday life.
Fellowship
Everybody needs a friend. We live in a fractured world
that is increasingly materialistic and impersonal. Through
growth groups, you will have the opportunity to develop deep
and lasting friendships as you share together, laugh together,
pray together and grow together.
Prayer & Support
Life can be difficult. Growth Groups provide an opportunity to
encourage one another in our walk with the Lord. Everyone
knows we should pray, but growth groups give us a time and a
place where we can move beyond “God is great and God is good”
and really support our brothers and sisters in Christ. In
addition, Growth Group members strive to put feet on their
faith by serving one another in practical ways.
What
types of groups are available?
Wednesday Night Refuel Groups
The majority of our Growth Groups meet at New Life
on Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:30 pm. Adult groups meet
around tables in the main auditorium, Teen groups meet in
homes, elementary groups meet in the ALLSTARS room, preschool
groups meet in their classrooms and little ones are cared for
in our nurseries. Adult groups are designed for men, women or
couples and are typically divided by stage of life. Bible
studies are based on a book of the Bible or topic of interest
and run for 6-10 weeks with the opportunity to continue in the
same group or move to a new group at the beginning of each
series. Each evening consists of a time of worship led by our
praise band, an informal Bible teaching by Pastor Warren, and a
Growth Group discussion and prayer time.

Home Groups
These groups meet in homes throughout our
community. Each group is directed by a qualified leader who
is responsible for determining their meeting time and place,
choosing their course of study, and inviting others to be part
of their group. Some of these groups are “age specific” such
as our college and young adult groups, while others are open
to anyone living in a specific community.
Support Groups
These groups focus on a specific issue such as:
divorce, depression, addiction, or abuse and strive to help
group members apply Biblical principles for overcoming these
difficult challenges. Our group leaders have been chosen
because of their experience and/or training in these areas of
need and are able to provide helpful strategies, loving
support and accountability for group members. These groups
typically have start and finish dates and require
pre-registration.
